Outline planning permission has now been gained for 47 new homes in Twyning at land north of Fleet Lane and west of Downfield Lane. We’re now evolving our plans prior to commencing development.
The site comprises approximately 2.59 hectares of semi-improved grassland and is bound by existing dwellings to the west and mature hedgerows to the north, south and east.
Proposed new homes in Twyning consist of 47 homes (open market and affordable). These include bungalows, 1.5 and 2 storey homes, a sustainable urban drainage system, fruit orchard and allotments.
The design of this development has been led by the surrounding local character and protection of the existing green infrastructure. This creates a traditionally designed development that successfully integrates into the local area.
The site has been designed to create a private and safe environment, whilst respecting seperatation distances from existing residential dwellings. It also responds to the scale of the existing houses. Each homes will enjoy generous parking, on plot. New planing and vegetation will be added along the boundaries as part of the wider landscape scheme.
Sustainability
Homes will be constructed to the very latest construction techniques and utilise renewable energy technologies.
The use of solar panels combined with air source heat pumps result in our open market homes becoming zero carbon in terms of energy use. This helps occupants shrink their carbon footprint.
Properties have been orientated to maximise solar gain. The high levels of insulation used in the fabric of the building also assists delivering significant energy savings.
Water butts positioned within private gardens where possible capture rainfall from roofs. A great resource for gardening or washing vehicles.
Looking to a sustainable future
Looking to the future, there is a passionate commitment to creating an increasingly sustainable legacy with each and every home. There are many features throughout not only our homes, but also the wider development. These all mitigate climate change. Investment is made into technologies over and above our planning and building regulation requirements. This ensures homes can maximise the benefit of solar pv production offsetting grid electricity usage. We use air source heat pumps or other new technologies avoiding fossil fuel usage that can make homes net zero carbon. Seemingly small touches such as a composter or water butt, or integrated eco bins in every kitchen to encourage recycling mean that it’s the little details that make the biggest difference. Newland Homes prides itself on not only meeting but exceeding current building regulations and planning requirements with the future constantly front of mind.
Great design at the heart of every home
Inside each home is an abundance of considered touches of award winning design. Kitchens are carefully thought out not only in terms of practicality, but comfort too, with the kitchen being the heart of the home. Integrated appliances form part of the standard specification, along with the amount of natural light and task lighting all considered. Principal bedrooms boast built in wardrobes and storage is always considered. Bathrooms ooze relaxation with their high quality fittings including popular ‘rain’ shower heads, whether you enjoy a long soak, or a quick splash.
