Lambrok Mead is home to 2, 3 and 4 bedroom energy efficient, zero carbon homes in the Wiltshire county town of Trowbridge on the edge of open countryside.
With construction underway, we expect our first homes to be released for sale Spring 2026.
The zero carbon homes at Lambrok Mead are the absolute pinnacle of energy efficiency and environmental impact. All homes possess ‘A’ rated predicted energy assessments, building beyond current building regulations. This is valued highly by Newland Homes in its approach towards creating climate considerate homes.
Residents will benefit from a substantial area of public open space to the north of the Lambrok stream with a comprehensive landscaping scheme enhancing the existing environment.
We’re proud to have successfully created a number of award winning developments within Trowbridge over the years too. Our level of commitment and approach to each site has been acknowledged and resulted in being awarded the Trowbridge Town Enhancement Award for The Conigre (2005), Ushers Brewery (2011) and the Brewery Quarter (2014).
What makes our homes zero carbon?
Our zero carbon homes create as much prime energy as they need, thanks to their use of highly efficient air source heat pumps, extensive solar panels providing renewable energy and high levels of insulation. Prime energy is the regulated energy used to provide lighting, heating & hot water in the home. This is assessed by a standard procedure assuming a typical family lifestyle as indicated in the home’s Energy Performance Certificate.

The site has been fully informed throughout by extensive investigations and reports covering (but not limited to); highways, drainage, landscape, ecology and design. The proposals are further supported by a ‘Building for a Healthy Life Assessment (BHL)’. BHL updates England’s most widely known and used design tool (Building for Life 12 Assessment) for creating places that are better for people and nature.

Landscape and Ecology
The sites detailed proposal delivers enhanced landscape and ecological throughout and result in a development which exceeds local planning policy by providing in excess of 20% biodiversity net gain. This includes the provision of a substantial area of public open space to the north of the Lambrok Stream. New succession planting will be provided as part of a comprehensive landscaping scheme, which over time will replace the existing declining trees on the south side of the Lambrok with more appropriate replacement native species.
As part of the design, several detailed surveys have been undertaken and include recommendations for the introduction of bird and bat boxes; a sensitive lighting strategy; planting of a native species hedgerow creating green buffers along the northern and eastern boundaries.

Looking to a sustainable future
Looking to the future, there is a passionate commitment to creating an increasingly sustainable legacy with each and every home. There are many features throughout not only our homes, but also the wider development. These all mitigate climate change. Investment is made into technologies over and above our planning and building regulation requirements. This ensures homes can maximise the benefit of solar pv production offsetting grid electricity usage. We use air source heat pumps or other new technologies avoiding fossil fuel usage that can make homes net zero carbon. Seemingly small touches such as a composter or water butt, or integrated eco bins in every kitchen to encourage recycling mean that it’s the little details that make the biggest difference.  Newland Homes prides itself on not only meeting but exceeding current building regulations and planning requirements with the future constantly front of mind.
Great design at the heart of every home
Inside each home is an abundance of considered touches of award winning design. Kitchens are carefully thought out not only in terms of practicality, but comfort too, with the kitchen being the heart of the home. Integrated appliances form part of the standard specification, along with the amount of natural light and task lighting all considered. Principal bedrooms boast built in wardrobes and storage is always considered. Bathrooms ooze relaxation with their high quality fittings including popular ‘rain’ shower heads, whether you enjoy a long soak, or a quick splash.
