Three is the magic bedroom number

Research by Zoopla suggests that three-bedroom homes are attracting the largest levels of home buyer demand across the country, and this is echoed locally by Newland Homes, who are holding special open weekends at two of their North Somerset developments on the weekends of the 22nd & 23rd January, and 29th & 30th January to respond to heightened interest.

More than half of the new homes are now occupied at Newland Homes’ developments at Court de Wyck in Claverham and Mendip Gate in Churchill, but it’s the three bedroom homes which have particularly piqued interest as Marcus Evans, Newland Homes’ Sales & Marketing Director explains: “Three is the magic number when it comes to bedrooms.  It’s a future-proofed option for young couples, practical for a growing family, and ideal for downsizers who often want to minimise upkeep responsibilities without compromising on space.”

Given the increased levels of demand, buyers looking to purchase a three-bedroom property are likely to face significant competition, so Newland Homes’ exclusive events on the weekends of the 22nd & 23rd January, and 29th & 30th January create a dedicated stress-free setting with free independent financial advice, stamp duty incentives and special offers, such as flooring included and legal fees paid.

Mendip Gate is a bespoke collection of three, four and five bedroom homes in the village of Churchill on the edge of the spectacular Mendip Hills.  It has proven popular with buyers as it offers the best of all worlds, with easy access to the coastline along the Bristol Channel, the city of Bristol itself and the many surrounding areas of outstanding natural beauty which are popular dog walking locations.

Newland Homes at Court de Wyck provides 75 new homes in a unique historic setting in Claverham, centred around the Grade-II listed Court de Wyck Georgian manor house and its former chapel, as well as the walls of a 14th century Tithe Barn.  The development provides a selection of individually designed, detached and semi-detached, stone and render homes.

New residents, Val and Reg Partridge have thrown themselves into village life in Claverham with gusto since moving to Court de Wyck last summer.  Their three-bedroom ‘Hinton’ home has space for when their grandchildren come to stay and a dedicated room for a home office.

Reg says: “It feels like we’re living in a little hamlet of new homes, it’s secluded, quiet and feels very safe. It’s an economical house to run with all A rated appliances, an efficient heating system and good insulation.  The solar panels are a bonus feature.  We know we have sold energy back to the grid.”

“We have found ourselves in a property that is much the same size of our previous home, but easier to manage, to keep clean, and also cheaper to run” says Val.

Newland Homes is embracing the latest technological advancements to make homes more sustainable and economic to run, without compromising on their style.  Each detached home at Court de Wyck and Mendip Gate has up to eight solar panels, marking a significant contribution to the sustainable credentials of these homes and resulting in a 20% reduction in carbon emissions.

Homes also come with rain harvesting water butts and composter areas in the garden, together with integrated eco-bins in the kitchen, to help facilitate new habits of recycling waste.   Furthermore, wiring provision is included for an electric vehicle charging point to be added in the future.  Homes also benefit from the provision of a Superfast Fibre Broadband connection, with at least two data sockets within the home, to assist with home working.

Three-bed presentation homes are available to view at Court de Wyck and Mendip Gate, with prices starting from £360,000 and some properties ready to move into straight away.  Please call 01934 331809 for Court de Wyck or 01934 331807 for Mendip Gate to book your place and gain access to exclusive offers at these weekends’ events.  Tailor-made viewings are also available daily between 11am to 5pm, seven days a week.  For further information please click here for Court de Wyck or click here for Mendip Gate.
