FUN AND GAMES AT COURT DE WYCK CHURCH SCHOOL

Pupils at Court de Wyck Church School in Claverham have been enjoying their new colourful playground, thanks to generous donations from four local businesses and organisations including Newland Homes.

Newland Homes, who’s Court de Wyck development opposite the school initially included 75 climate-considerate homes plus a further 24 zero carbon houses and bungalows in the North Field due 2024, donated alongside Waitrose in Nailsea, Yeo Valley Lions and Cleeve Parish Council who all helped fund the vibrant floor mural.   Court de Wyck Church School is supported by a very active Parent Teacher Association (PTA), who worked tirelessly to raise the money to repaint the playground over the school holidays, so it was a welcome surprise for the children when they returned this term.

Jo Baker-Brown, Headteacher at Court de Wyck Church School commented: “The children are loving the new colourful addition to their playground and have been playing lots of games of twister and hopscotch. It has improved the quality of the children’s playtimes and it’s great to see them develop their social skills in such a positive way.”

Charlotte Hayes-Holgate from Newland Homes visited the school to see the children in action on the playground.  She comments: “We all know the impact our surroundings can have on our health and wellbeing, and it’s a pleasure to be able to inject some additional cheer into the children’s play.”

The first 75 new homes in Claverham completed last year.  The development has proven extremely popular with buyers, given its sustainable credentials and the high energy efficiency of the homes, with the further 24 homes on the North Field being zero carbon and packed with renewable energy technologies.  Click for more information and current availability
