We are celebrating the success of our ‘Home for a Home’ partnership with Teckels Animal Sanctuaries, after cockapoo Polly found her forever family. This initiative supports the rehoming of a rescue animal for every new home sold at our new Upton’s Garden development in Whitminster.
Teckels Animal Sanctuaries rescues and rehomes hundreds of animals each year, relying heavily on donations and community support. Since 2003, the independent charity has provided a safe haven for around 250 homeless cats and dogs each year.
Three-year-old Polly is one such example. Polly first came to Teckels as a stray in quite a state; severely underweight, covered in matted hair with terrible open sores and infections.
Polly meets the Newland Homes team
After lots of love and extensive recouperation, the Teckels team recently walked Polly from the sanctuary to Upton’s Garden, where she met members of the Newland Homes team before heading off to her new family.
“Polly’s tail was wagging from the moment she arrived at the show home! Knowing that the homes we are building are helping animals like Polly makes all of us at Newland Homes incredibly proud” says Jane Grendall, Site Manager at Upton’s Gardens.
Only two zero carbon homes remain available
Each highly efficient home at Upton’s Garden uses renewable energy for heat and power, with solar panels, air source heat pumps and extensive insulation, negating the need for fossil fuels. Just two zero carbon homes remain available, including the development’s four-bedroom showhome which has just been released for sale.
“We can change lives, both human and animal, when local organisations come together”
Chelsea Rogers from Teckels Animal Sanctuaries commented: “We’re so grateful for Newland Homes’ ongoing support. The team genuinely cares and that makes a real difference. We can change lives, both human and animal, when local organisations come together.”
Newland Homes has a long history with the village of Whitminster, having been responsible for the development at Parklands Orchard just off of School Lane between 2018 and 2020.
