FIRST DETAILS REVEALED FOR MAJOR NEW CHURCHDOWN NEIGHBOURHOOD

First details revealed for major new Churchdown neighbourhood

First details revealed for major new Churchdown neighbourhood.  The details of our development in Churchdown have been unveiled, as we officially release our first zero carbon homes for sale on Cheltenham Road East this month.

The development will ultimately deliver 145 new homes powered by renewable energy rather than fossil fuels.  This is believed to be the first time zero carbon homes have been built by a housebuilder in Churchdown.   The new homes come complete with air source heat pumps and solar panels for heat and power, with insulation levels close to Passivhaus standards.   All homes also benefit from EV charging points, reflecting the growing shift towards electric cars.

Open to the public for the first time on Saturday 18th April

The marketing suite and showhome open to the public for the first time on Saturday 18th April 2026.  Tailor-made appointments available to book by calling 01452 645416.

The contemporary-designed new homes range in size from two bedroom through to five bedrooms.  They have been orientated to maximise light and views.  Nearly half of the site will become new public open space, with a meandering play area, meadow area and woodland planting for all to enjoy.

Plans include allotments and extensive ecology & wildlife benefits

The plans also include allotments, creating more opportunities for local people to grow their own food.  New landscaping enhancements will provide extensive ecology and wildlife benefits.  This will include hedgehog highways, as well as bird and bat boxes.  Overall, Newland Homes at Churchdown will deliver more than three times the level of biodiversity improvement normally expected from new developments.  Creating lasting benefits for local nature as well as for residents and the wider community.

The plans for the site were unanimously approval by Tewkesbury Borough Council.  They praised our trailblazing approach to design, sustainability and track record of delivery.

Marcus Evans, Sales & Marketing Director for Newland Homes, comments: “The launch of these zero carbon homes is a significant moment for Churchdown, because it’s when the plans move from drawings to reality.  People can come onto the site for the first time.  They can see the homes and the space for themselves, and get a real sense of how the zero carbon technology that provides heat and power works day to day.”

Our commitment to supporting the communities in which we build

As part of the planning permission for the development, we have committed to funding local highways improvements, including the delivery of a new toucan crossing.  As well as making financial contributions towards local education provision, libraries, playing pitches and the local community centre.

In a partnership with the Friends of St Mary’s PTA and Churchdown Parish Council, we have already created a brand-new games area for all weather play, along with a large trim trail and slide, at St Mary’s School in Churchdown.  This reflects our ongoing commitment to supporting the communities in which we build.

Tailor-made appointments are available daily, from 11am to 5pm, at Newland Homes at Churchdown.  Please call 01452 645416 to book.  Please click here or follow @newlandhomes on socials for more information.
