Our ‘Home for a Home’ partnership with Teckels Animal Sanctuary in Whitminster is a heart-warming community partnership. This means for every home sold at our new Upton’s Garden development in Whitminster, the company will fund a rescue animal on its journey to find a loving, forever home.
Teckels Animal Sanctuary rescues and rehomes hundreds of animals each year, relying heavily on donations and community support. Since 2003, the independent charity has provided a safe haven for around 250 homeless cats and dogs each year.
The ‘Home for a Home’ partnership
The ‘Home for a Home’ partnership with Newland Homes means that, for each of the eight homes sold at Upton’s Garden, we will help fund the rehoming of cats and dogs across Gloucestershire.
“This initiative allows us to celebrate new beginnings. Both for the families moving into our homes and for the animals Teckels works so hard to care for and rehome” says Jane Grendall, Site Manager for Newland Homes at Upton’s Gardens. “I’ve personally used Teckels for boarding my dogs and they have looked after them as if they were their own. As a team of animal lovers, this partnership means a lot to us at Newland Homes.”
Strong start to the launch
We launched our collection of zero carbon homes in the village of Whitminster last month and the development has enjoyed a strong start. Three of the homes have already been reserved. The highly efficient homes use renewable energy for heat and power. With solar panels, air source heat pumps and extensive insulation, negating the need for fossil fuels.
Chelsea Rogers from Teckels Animal Sanctuary commented: “It’s wonderful to see a local business whose team are passionate about animals. The Home for a Home initiative will make a real difference. Not just financially, but by raising awareness of the need for rescue animals to find safe, loving homes. We provide essential veterinary care, nourishing meals, comfortable shelter and the dedicated staff required to rehabilitate and nurture our animals, many of whom have had a hard time. Newland Homes will help give them the happiness they deserve.”
