Homes with Heart: Whitminster development leaves a lasting legacy with donation

Homes with Heart: Leaving a lasting legacy with donation.  We’ve handed over a cheque to Teckels Animal Sanctuaries, turning a community promise into real-world support as our latest development in Whitminster reaches the final stages.

Lasting impact of the ‘Home for a Home’ partnership

As the final homes at Upton’s Garden near completion, we have marked the occasion by handing over a donation to Teckels Animal Sanctuaries.  This donation reinforces the lasting impact of the ‘Home for a Home’ partnership between our two organisations.  The partnership supports the rehoming of a rescue animal for every new, zero carbon home, sold at Upton’s Garden in Whitminster.

With just two homes remaining for sale at the eight-home scheme, the donation arrives at an important moment for the charity, as winter brings increased costs and operational pressures.

The charity has provided a safe haven for around 250 cats and dogs each year

Teckels Animal Sanctuaries rescues and rehomes hundreds of animals each year.  They rely heavily on donations from local organisations and residents.  Since 2003, the independent charity has provided a safe haven for around 250 homeless cats and dogs each year.

“Many of us have pets at home, so supporting an animal charity feels deeply personal.  It’s wonderful to know that the homes we’ve built in Whitminster have helped animals find a safe place of their own” says Jane Grendall, Site Manager at Upton’s Gardens.

“Genuine support has a huge impact on our work”

Chelsea Rogers from Teckels Animal Sanctuaries commented: “When local organisations like Newland Homes step forward with genuine support, it has a huge impact on our work.  This donation will help us continue to care for vulnerable animals when resources are under real pressure.”

Just two highly energy-efficient homes remain for sale at Upton’s Garden.  The site occupies a handpicked location close to the River Frome and Cotswold Canals network.  It is set in extensive open meadow space.  Upton’s Garden has proved particularly popular with buyers who value access to outdoor space.  This is a key consideration for many pet owners.

Designed to be fossil-fuel-free, the four-bedroom homes use renewable energy for heat and power.  With solar panels, air source heat pumps and extensive insulation, negating the need for fossil fuels.

Prices at Upton’s Garden start from £595,000.   Tailor-made appointments are available daily, please call 01452 645510 to book.  For further information and to view homes online please click here or follow Newland Homes on socials @newlandhomes
