We are laying strong foundations for 2025. As the Government sets its sights on delivering 1.5 million homes over the next five years, we are starting the year in a strong position, officially completing the purchase of three significant development sites in the Southwest.
These acquisitions represent the culmination of several years of dedicated work through the planning process, ensuring that each site is ready to deliver thoughtfully designed, zero carbon homes.
Developments across Wiltshire and Gloucestershire
The new developments will provide a total of 242 homes across Wiltshire and Gloucestershire:
- Frome Road, Trowbridge (Wiltshire): A carefully planned scheme of 50 zero carbon homes on the edge of the county town. Newland Homes has a long history within Trowbridge, having won the Town Enhancement Award multiple times for previous developments. Our connection to the town extends beyond housebuilding. We were proud sponsors of the 200th anniversary celebration of Usher’s Brewery at Parade House last year, highlighting our continued support for Trowbridge’s rich cultural heritage.
- Downfield Lane, Twyning (Gloucestershire): We are returning to Twyning to deliver 47 zero carbon homes in this charming rural village setting. Our plans include bungalows, as well as a fruit orchard and allotments.
- Cheltenham Road East, Churchdown (Gloucestershire): Following a unanimous approval by Tewkesbury Borough Council, we will be embarking on a landmark scheme of 145 zero carbon homes, 51 of which will be affordable, as well as seven self-build homes. Almost 50% of the site will be public open space.
Dedication and teamwork define our company
Reflecting on this milestone, Andrew Billings, our Land Director, comments: “This year marks my 20th anniversary at Newland Homes and these acquisitions represent the dedication and teamwork that have come to define our company. We have worked closely with local stakeholders over several years to shape these developments, ensuring they align with our values of sustainability and respect for local character. We will begin construction on all three sites over the coming months and I’m excited to see our vision take shape as we continue to contribute towards much-needed housing delivery.”
These developments further underline Newland Homes’ long-term commitment to addressing housing challenges while supporting greener, more sustainable communities through the delivery of zero carbon homes.
Thank you to everyone involved in the planning, design and acquisition process, as well as to the local communities who have helped shape these developments.
