We are calling on Tetbury residents to find a new home for books this Recycle Week. Local readers can bring their finished book to our Little Free Library at The Limes this Recycle Week.
Swapping for a new one gives them a chance for another local reader to enjoy them.
Recycle your reads
Recycle Week takes place from the 14th to 20th September 2026 with the national message ‘Rescue Me, Recycle!’. The Little Free Library is located at The Limes on London Road. It is open to everyone and offers a simple way to keep good-quality books in circulation. Visitors can leave a book, magazine or comic they have finished and swap one for another if they wish. Swappers can also take a photo and share their Recycle Week book donations on social media by tagging @newlandhomes.
Homes built to recycle
While visiting the library, people are also invited to look around The Limes and discover some of the practical features incorporated into our properties to support recycling and more sustainable lifestyles. These include water butts, which collect rainwater for reuse in the garden, composters for garden waste and recycling bins built into the kitchen design.
Alison Bowen, Sales Manager for Newland Homes, comments: “Recycle Week is a useful reminder to think about what we throw away and whether it can be reused instead. Bringing a book to the Little Free Library is one very simple way of putting recycling into practice, while the features we build into our homes are designed to make more sustainable choices part of everyday life.”
The library itself is an example of rescuing useful materials from waste. Members of the Tetbury Men’s Shed built it using salvaged timber from derelict houses, transforming the reclaimed wood into a lasting community resource.
National Year of Reading
The Little Free Library is the second community book exchange we’ve installed. Our Little Free Libraries form part of our pledge to support the National Year of Reading 2026. The year-long Department for Education initiative is delivered in collaboration with the National Literacy Trust. It aims to reconnect people of all ages with reading as a meaningful, modern and social activity.
The Limes is a collection of 45 three and four bedroom zero carbon homes. They combine traditional craftsmanship and Cotswold stone with the latest energy efficiency technology. Plus, they’re just a short walk from the heart of Tetbury. Some homes are ready to move into now, with prices starting from £440,000 for a three bedroom terraced home.
A two-year mortgage contribution of up to £1,000 per month is currently available on selected three and four-bedroom homes, subject to terms and conditions. Tailor-made appointments are available daily. Call 01666 719069 to book. For further information and to view homes online, click here, or follow us on social media @newlandhomes.
