Zero carbon homes arrive in Claverham as housebuilder Newland Homes unveils a collection of 24 new, state of the art properties, including bungalows, in the North Somerset village.
The North Field at Court de Wyck in Claverham is a development of 24 detached zero carbon houses and bungalows. All properties are powered by renewable technology. The Marketing Suite opens from Saturday 29th June 2024 ahead of the showhome in the autumn.
Homes achieve an ‘A’ rating for energy efficiency & environmental impact
Newland Homes’ zero carbon homes use Solar PV for energy. This also helps power the home’s air source heat pump for heating and hot water. Extensive insulation and the use of renewable technology means these homes achieve an ‘A’ rating. This is the top score for their energy efficiency and environmental impact. The homes also have electric car charging points.
The North Field at Court de Wyck sees an additional 24 homes built alongside the community previously created by Newland Homes during its regeneration of the former UTC Aerospace site on Bishops Road. There will be a mix of three and four bedroom detached homes, plus two and three bedroom detached bungalows in a variety of styles.
Design influenced by it’s historic location
This latest collection of zero carbon homes integrates seamlessly with the existing homes. The design of which was influenced by the site’s historic location, centred around the Grade-II listed Court de Wyck Georgian manor house and its former chapel. Newland Homes carried out an extensive restoration of the former chapel and it is now a one-of-a-kind family home.
Furthermore, the original walls of a 14th century Tithe Barn were integrated into the development. The approach is via a tree lined entrance, past the local village hall and May Day Field.
Marcus Evans, Sales & Marketing Director for Newland Homes comments: “This location contains an abundance of local history. We are now making our own history by introducing these groundbreaking, environmentally friendly homes to Claverham, creating homes of the future fit for generations to come. The sense of community within the development continues to flourish. We look forward to welcoming new homeowners, who will have the pick of the first release of plots before our showhome opens later this year.”
