“Movemaker helped me unlock my dream move” said Gaynor, whose move to The Limes in Tetbury has been nothing short of transformative.
After years living in an old hillside cottage in the village of Chalford near Stroud, she longed for a warmer, more practical home. Her cottage had been languishing in an estate agent’s window for months, so when she discovered Newland Homes’ development in Tetbury and the company’s Movemaker scheme, she saw it as a way to finally unlock her dream move.
“I lived in an old cottage in the middle of nowhere with nothing to walk to before moving to The Limes. There was gas central heating in my cottage, but I couldn’t afford to turn it on!” jokes Gaynor. “I only ever felt cosy in the living room when the woodburner was going.”

“I hadn’t heard of Newland Homes before and I didn’t know anything about the company, but I loved the concept of better energy efficiency. Being able to walk into a town was a big priority too” explains Gaynor, who has subsequently joined a local gym within walking distance of her new home.

Gaynor experienced a long-winded sale of her cottage in Chalford, which was on the market for around 16 months in total, leaving her stuck in limbo and unable to move on. “Newland Homes’ Movemaker scheme revitalised everything and gave me a fresh selling strategy. A new agent was introduced, and I was given helpful advice on how to make the sale more attractive to buyers. Those steps, along with regular fortnightly updates on progress, finally got things moving. After so long waiting, Movemaker breathed new life into the sale and helped me achieve the ultimate goal of getting the home I really wanted.”

Gaynor speaks warmly of Charlotte, Newland Homes’ Sales Consultant, who she credits with getting her across the finish line. “Charlotte has been pivotal. There were challenges with solicitors and all sorts along the way, but she pushed it all through. She’s great.” Gaynor also has high praise for the on-site team: “The builders are amazing! They are always popping in to see if they can help and any little niggles have been sorted out straight away.”
A Warm, Cosy, Energy-Efficient Home
Speaking in November 2025, Gaynor shared that she was already enjoying the benefits of her new home at The Limes. “I’m so warm, and my heating hasn’t even kicked in yet! I’m absolutely ecstatic in my new home. It’s everything I hoped for and more.”
