Newland Homes lauded for enhancing Trowbridge returns with town’s first zero carbon homes. As an award-winning housebuilder we have returned to Trowbridge, with the town’s first collection of zero carbon homes at Lambrok Mead on Frome Road.
Lambrok Mead continues our climate considerate commitment with 50 zero carbon two, three and four-bedroom homes. Each home will help future residents reduce their own carbon footprint with highly efficient renewable energy features. Air source heat pumps, combined with high levels of insulation and solar panels are included. This means the homes are built to deliver zero carbon living from the moment residents move in, rather than being designed to achieve zero carbon at a later date.
Trio of Trowbridge Town Enhancement Awards
Trowbridge is already home to several of our developments. We were recognised with a trio of Trowbridge Town Enhancement Awards in 2005, 2011 and 2014. 2021 marked the completion of Newland Place; a brownfield regeneration of the former Wiltshire Council offices on Bradley Road. Last year, we proudly sponsored the 200th anniversary celebrations of Ushers Brewery. This highlighted the company’s ongoing investment in the town’s heritage and community.
Homes at Lambrok Mead are set to be of the highest quality, thanks to site manager, Conrad Maggs. Conrad oversaw the construction of Newland Place and now returns to Trowbridge. His reputation for delivering excellent homes has earned him national recognition from the Local Authority Building Control (LABC). This is for his meticulous attention to detail, high-quality workmanship and exemplary site management.
Beyond his own achievements, Conrad is passionate about nurturing the next generation of construction professionals. He has played an important role in developing several site managers over the years, including recently promoted site manager, Rhys Capstaff-Taylor. Having started his career as Conrad’s assistant, Rhys has progressed through the business under Conrad’s mentorship
“We are delighted to be back building the first zero carbon homes in Trowbridge,” explained Conrad. “Throughout my career, I’ve always enjoyed helping people develop their skills and progress within the industry. So it’s particularly rewarding to see colleagues that I’ve mentored, like Rhys, go on to take on site management roles of their own. Knowing that commitment to quality and craftsmanship is being passed on to the next generation is something I’m very proud of.”
Designed to enhance local biodiversity and provide attractive green spaces
Conrad and Rhys are gearing up for a busy few weeks as Lambrok Mead opens to the public this month. A handful of homes are already released for sale. The new homes are ‘A’ rated for energy efficiency and environmental impact, surpassing current building standards. Beyond the homes themselves, the development has been carefully designed to enhance local biodiversity and provide attractive green spaces.
“We’ve also been careful to design a comprehensive landscaping scheme. Over time this will replace the existing declining trees with more appropriate replacement native species. There will also be a substantial area of public open space to the north of the Lambrok Stream. This will ensure that the area continues to be a great place for residents and other locals to enjoy the outdoors” explains Conrad.
‘Dusty boots’ tours of the first homes
We are holding a limited number of ‘dusty boots’ tours of the first homes which have been released for purchase at Lambrok Mead. This is prior to the showhome and marketing suite opening. This gives interested parties a chance to don their hard hats and take a tour behind the scenes of the development, before it officially opens to the public. With zero carbon homes now available to purchase from £310,000, with Movemaker and part exchange schemes to help you move, Lambrok Mead is shaping up to be another award-winning development in Trowbridge.
