NEWLAND HOMES SUPPORTS LOCAL CHARITY TO COMBAT ISOLATION

Newland Homes supports local charity to combat isolation

Newland Homes supports local charity to combat isolation.  The developer has generously donated £700 to Green Community Travel.  They are a registered charity providing accessible and affordable transport services to those in need across the region.  The funding will allow the charity to organise discounted day trips for isolated or lonely passengers, creating meaningful opportunities for connection and enjoyment.

Lifeline for individuals

These trips provide a vital lifeline for individuals who might otherwise struggle to get out and about.  They offer both local visits to destinations in and around Yate, Bradley Stoke, and Thornbury, as well as excursions further afield to places such as Weston-super-Mare.  Thanks to Newland Homes’ support, Green Community Travel can reduce the cost of its further afield day trips to just £10 per passenger.

Green Community Travel members visit Great Oaks

As part of this heartwarming collaboration, members of Green Community Travel recently visited the Newland Homes team at Great Oaks at Engine Common, near Yate.  The trip was a resounding success.  Passengers enjoyed the experience of exploring the zero carbon homes and community-focused development.

Lauren Allen, Deputy Manager at Green Community Travel, shared her appreciation: “This donation means so much to our passengers.  Many of whom face challenges that limit their ability to travel and socialise.  Being able to keep trip costs as low as possible makes them much more accessible, helping people to make new friends and get out and about. The trip to Newland Homes’ development was a highlight for everyone who attended, as evident from the pictures! There were lots of smiles and lively conversations.  We are incredibly grateful to Newland Homes for its support.”

Proud to support Green Community Travel

Newland Homes, who is building 84 zero carbon homes at Engine Common, near Yate, was equally delighted to be involved.  Chris Parker, Head of Marketing at Newland Homes, said:
“We are proud to support Green Community Travel in its mission to combat loneliness and provide vital services for local people. We believe in building relationships and shared experiences that strengthen our communities.  It was a pleasure to host their members and hear their stories.  We saw firsthand how something as simple as a day out can make such a difference.”

The donation from Newland Homes will directly benefit passengers who rely on Green Community Travel for access to outings, shopping trips, and social events. These activities play a vital role in fostering social inclusion and enhancing mental well-being.
